The Fifth International Conference on Intelligent Systems for Molecular Biology (ISMB-97)
We have employed FORUM International Congress Organizers, to arrange transportation from the airport to the hotel. Their representative will be at the airport at the 'ISMB'/FORUM stand, to welcome you (on the 20th, 21st and 22nd of June). All participants will be transported to the hotel, upon their arrival.
The cost is $60 return -- to be paid as you board the bus. All major credit cards are accepted.
In addition, FORUM has secured special air fares from New York and Tokyo to/from Thessaloniki. Please check this information before you make other travel arrangements.
The cheapest route for intercontinental flights may be through London, with direct flights to Thessaloniki. See also How to get to Elláda from the UK. Another alternative transit airport is Frankfurt . Flights from all major european cities to Thessaloniki exist. From the USA, another itinerary may be made through Athens. You do not need a car for the conference -- tranportation from the airport, local conference venue, organized tours from the hotel, walks by the seaside, make car hire unnecessary. However, if you are still thinking about renting a car, we note that all major rental car companies (Hertz, Avis, etc.) have booths at the airport. The airport is about 60 miles (1 hr) from the resort. Summer months are very busy, book in advance. These companies can also be directly contacted from the hotel, in case you need a car during the meeting or afterwards. More common and useful may be motorbike hire at the hotel.
